Come Back Alive: Colonial Marines

Nothing embodies the holiday spirit quite like grisled space marines locked in a deadly embrace with face-melting inevitability. Like a pack of value hot dogs, your squad have been thawed to investigate a distress call from the infamous U.S.S. Sulaco.

Your mission, if you should choose to accept it, is to disregard any semblance of self-preservation and head down to Acheron’s surface. Thirty-nine light years from home, engineers specialise in poorly-lit tunnels and convenient maintenance ducts to ensure every corner is as potentially deadly as the last. Perhaps if the janitor had replaced those bulbs you would’ve had more than five seconds warning before your spine was repurposed as dental floss.

Well, it is panto season

Adam and I were fortunate enough to get hands-on with Colonial Marines at Eurogamer, and were pleasantly surprised. Combat was fast-paced and responsive, asymmetrical teams made for interesting and varied encounters, and watching a pack of Xenos stalking your squad on the proximity sensor is genuinely terrifying. Due for release on February 12th, we’ll keep you posted as the hype-machine spins up. Keep your eyes peeled for Adam’s full preview shortly. Move out soldier!
